About me

Welcome to my in-progress Michigan Lighthouse illustration project, MITTEN STATE LIGHTS.

I am a lifelong Michigander and illustrator who was inspired to do this series after vacationing in the lakeside towns all across the state. The pride shown by each community for their neighborhood lighthouse and the inspiring stories of the many restorations of these old beacons by very dedicated people is what sparked my imagination. My challenge is to celebrate the singular purpose yet originally unique shapes and colors of all 93 Lighthouses found along the 3,288 mile coastline of the Mitten State. Enjoy, and stay tuned.
